Director of Worship & Music Hired!

We are excited to announce Dr. Jason Thoms will serve as the next Director of Worship and Music for Trinity beginning August 1st!

Dr. Jason Thoms is the Founder and Artistic Director of Dakota Pro Musica, North Dakota’s only fully professional choral ensemble, and recently became the Executive Director of the Dakota West Arts Council.  He is a professional chorister and bass soloist who has been on three Grammy-Nominated recordings in the Best Choral Performance category in the past four years.  He has nearly 20 years of experience as a Director of Choral Activities at colleges and universities across the country, and for the last four years, served in that role at Bismarck State College in Bismarck.  He has been the guest conductor for the last three years of the Bismarck Mandan Community Messiah at Trinity.

Jason has worked for churches and faith-based organizations throughout his career, and served as Director of Music Ministries in churches in Florida, Michigan, Mississippi, Arkansas, and New Jersey.  For thirteen years, he was the Director of Choral Activities at Concordia College New York, where his choirs toured the US performing in 49 States and presenting concerts and school assemblies in over 150 different Lutheran institutions.  In May 2016, his Concordia Chamber Choir embarked on a two-week tour of Germany and performed at the Castle Church and Town Church in Wittenburg, Germany.  In June 2017, he was the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor for the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation Hymn Festival at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

He is a graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN with a degree in Vocal Music Education, and earned a Masters degree and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting from Michigan State University.
